Yet another major American business, the restaurant chain Chipotle, is boosting benefits for workers.
Effective July 1st, Chipotle will be offering hourly workers paid sick leave, paid vacation and tuition reimbursement, benefits previously available only to salaried workers. Chipotle is already known for sourcing ethically raised meat.
Quoted in Nation’s Restaurant News, Chipotle Recruitment Strategy Manger JD Cummings said, “In our employment brand, we want to put our ingredients right next to our people.”
“We’re going to say that we take the same care in sourcing the employees that work in our restaurants and company as we do in going out an finding ingredients to serve in our restaurants,” he said.
