At Politico, Cecile Richards displays the myopia that characterizes so many special interest activists: Everything she states about political strategy is wrong and demonstrates the degree to which her organization’s need for funding and political support trumps any concern for Democrats to become a majority party again. Sad. Also, infuriating.

At Veuer, white supremacist Richard Spencer nails it in dismissing Trump’s condemnations of racism: “It’s just silliness.” In front of a teleprompter, Trump condemns racism.  No teleprompter? No condemnation.

At Commonweal, John Gehring asks: Where were the Catholic clergy in Charlottesville? It is a good question which, I fear, has no good answer. 

At the Boston Pilot, Cardinal Sean O’Malley offers one of the strongest statements about the tragedy in Charlottesville we have seen so far.
